MySTEPS is an application created and maintained by the Utah Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD). The MySTEPS application allows Utah residents to create an account and apply for one of DSPD's three medicaid programs. The application allows residents to apply online, by submitting all necessary documents and information electronically, as well as to communicate with Division staff throughout the application process. The application also allows residents to track the progress of their application and eligibility status.

The Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) promotes opportunities and provides supports for people with disabilities to lead self-determined lives by overseeing home and community-based services for more than 5,000 people who have disabilities. Support includes community living, day services, and supported employment services.

State Account is any email address or user id that has been registered on State of Utah website. If you have a state account such as MyCase please use the same account. Click here to see if you already have an account by entering your email address or user id in the fields provided.

A valid email address along with your first and last name is all that's required to create a State Account. You will also have to create a unique Utah ID, so that in future, you can use either the ID or your email address to log into the system.

States can develop home and community-based services waivers (HCBS Waivers) to meet the needs of people who prefer to get long-term care services and supports in their home or community, rather than in an institutional setting. Click here for more information.

Logged In User: The person who is logged into the system. This is the person that might be opening a case with Intake team at DSPD.

Person / Individual: A person for which the logged in user is opening a case with DSPD. A logged in user can open a case for themselves or for others.

  • Community Supports program provides supports for people who have an intellectual disability or a related condition such as but not limited to Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Seizure Disorder, etc.
  • The Acquired Brain Injury program provides support services for individuals over the age of 18 who have experienced a traumatic or acquired brain injury.
  • The Physical Disabilities program provides support services to individuals over the age of 18 who have a physical disability that results in the functional loss of at least two limbs.
